‘How To’ Create Buddy Packs
A wonderful addition to our Buddy Cares program is Buddy Packs. A great volunteer project for your school group, office, friends, family, faith based organization, or civic group is creating Buddy Packs to be shared with our hospital partners and patients. These care packages contain comfort items such as blankets, socks, journals, etc. for our patients of all ages to utilize during their hospital stays.
Buddy Packs are appreciated by patients of ALL ages! You can choose the age range and number of packs to create
We have created a list of sample items to include, but feel free to add your own items and be creative!
Some groups find it helpful to create an Amazon wish list so people can buy the items needed and ship them right to you
For transport you can use drawstring bags, canvas totes, or paper bags. You choose the size/type to fit your budget
The only items we cannot include are food/candy to be respectful of allergies
Once the items are gathered, host a fun ‘Packing Party’ for your group! Share the mission of Leukemia Texas with your group so they will know where the Buddy Packs are going!
Leukemia Texas staff will arrange for pickup and Buddy Pack delivery
