Giving Tuesday 2016

#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners— nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness.

Leukemia Texas and the city of Dallas will celebrate the first ever, Leukemia Texas Patient Aid Day on Tuesday, November, 29th, 2016. Through proclamation of Mayor Michael S. Rawlings and the Dallas City Council, Leukemia Texas Patient Aid Day will honor Leukemia Texas founder, the late Buddy Minyard, and his efforts to fight the blood cancer of leukemia through the funding of patient aid and research in Texas. The day further honors the hundreds of leukemia patients throughout the state that struggle with leukemia.
Leukemia Texas is grateful to the City of Dallas for highlighting the 45+ years of work by Leukemia Texas to raise funds exclusively for leukemia patients in Texas, and for honoring the finest medical institutions throughout Texas that provide the necessary care to patients and critical research towards a cure!
